Description

AURA AMT
Equipped with transducer Wharfedale AMT, now famous all over the world, every AURA model emits a breathtaking high-frequency definition.

Unlike conventional domes or other diaphragms, high frequency transducer Wharfedale AMT does not move forward and backward as a piston. Therefore, it is not bound by the mass of its diaphragm, resulting in dismissal of the response to transients. On the contrary, the diaphragm is folded and carries conductive elements immersed in an extremely strong magnetic field. This is not only an efficient way of moving the air, but it is also extremely accurate, since the diaphragm is always under strict control of the engine system. The result is a broadband transducer that reaches an extremely low distortion and an extraordinary musical detail, with extraordinary speed and dynamic capacity.

AURA accounts
How engineers Wharfedale they found during the design of the ELYSIAN series, the accuracy of transients and the efficiency of AMT must be combined with midranges and woofers to achieve seamless audio performance. For this reason, AURA uses a woven glass diaphragm for medium and low cones, finished with high flexibility rubber edges. The mobile coils that fly the cones are immersed in high flow magnetic fields, with parasitic currents and inductance controlled by copper-coated polys.

These low distortion motor systems are mounted on die cast aluminium frames, each of which is fixed to the cabinet with six high-strength bolts to maintain the rigidity of the structure and provide a precise response to the transients. The rubber rings that surround each frame are not only a decorative element, but also control the resonances that occur at the junction between the aluminum frame and the wooden furniture.

SLPP
The SLPP (Slot Loaded Profiled Port) design Wharfedale was developed from the original idea of Gilbert Briggs, the entrepreneur who founded and managed Wharfedale from 1932 to 1964. In the AURA series, the high-pressure and high-speed air flow from a downward door is better suited to the low air pressure in the room by distributing the air flow through a series of cracked doors in the hoof. This distribution reduces unwanted door turbulence and improves bass playback system efficiency, another brand design stop Wharfedale.
